General counsels honored at foundation gala
The Mexican American Bar Foundation held its 21st Anniversary Scholarship and Awards Gala on June 16 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Nearly $225,000 in scholarships and bar study stipends were awarded to law students attending Loyola Law School, Southwestern Law School, UCLA School of Law and USC Gould School of Law. Guests of honor at the gala included Commissioner Edith Ramirez of the Federal Trade Commission and Kim Rivera, Da Vita Inc. VP and general counsel, who both received the foundation’s Professional Achievement Award; Daniel C. Quintero, general counsel of Sony Optiarc America Inc., who received the Community Service Award; and Executive Vice President and General Counsel Robert L. Adler, who accepted the award for Corporate Diversity on behalf of Edison International. Former KNBC news anchor Michele Ruiz served as emcee. —Connie Lopez
