Public counsel recognizes pro bono volunteers
Public Counsel hosted the 2012 William J. Lasarow Awards on June 21 at the Roybal Federal Building in Los Angeles. The event seeks to recognize the contributions of bankruptcy pro bono volunteers. Public Counsel senior staff attorney Magdalena Reyes Bordeaux, who manages Public Counsel's Debtor Assistance Project, delivered opening remarks. President of Public Counsel, Hernan Vera, then opened the ceremony, and the Honorable Vincent P. Zurzolo presented the prestigious Lasarow awards to pro bono attorneys from each division in the Central District of California. The night concluded with recognition of the 90th birthday of Lasarow by Judge Thomas B. Donovan.
