The Los Angeles city attorney’s office has jumped into the fray of numerous actions taken against Los Angeles and Long Beach port transportation companies, who, the city attorney claims, mislabel truckers as freelancers.

The Los Angeles city attorney has jumped into the fray of numerous actions against Los Angeles and Long Beach port transportation companies, claiming they mislabel truckers as freelancers.

City Attorney Mike Feuer filed Monday three lawsuits against three companies — CMI Transportation LLC, K&R Transportation California LLC and Cal Cartage Transportation Express LLC — alleging employment misclassification.
