In the wake of Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ memo instructing local law enforcement to follow federal regulations on marijuana, the nascent legal market for the drug in California is dealing with an uncertain landscape for business owners and investors.

Major issues facing marijuana businesses include banks’ unwillingness to deal openly with them, tax code roadblocks and the standing federal prohibition.
