Lawyers say new Sessions directive part of strategy to move immigration cases
A new directive that places case completion quotas on immigration judges is the latest move by the U.S. Department of Justice to speed cases through the deportation system.
A new directive that places case completion quotas on immigration judges is the latest move by the U.S. Department of Justice to speed cases through the deportation system.
Some immigration defense attorneys said the move would place additional time constraints on judges to finish cases, and that along with other recent proposed changes, could hamper their ability to prevent clients from being deported.
