After Angel Stadium land sale, lawmaker wants law strengthened
“The Angel Stadium land sale and the resulting $96 million fine shows the [Surplus Land] Act needs more teeth to it,” wrote bill author Sen. Tom Umberg on his Twitter account Wednesday.
Aiming to “restore the trust of the residents of Anaheim and Orange County,” state Sen. Tom Umberg is proposing legislation that could change California’s Surplus Land Act to impose a new state-mandated program without reimbursement to local authorities.
