Supreme Court agrees to hear challenge to 3 strikes law
The issue has been a major fight in the district attorney’s office, pitting Gascon against line prosecutors, and was a flashpoint in the unsuccessful campaign to gather enough signatures to recall him.
At the request of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, the state Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to reconsider an appellate court ruling that allows prosecutors to seek enhancements under California’s Three Strikes Law over the objections of their boss.
