Organization will advocate for reforms to litigation finance
Consumers for Fair Legal Funding–California, whose members range from members of Chambers of Commerce to Black civil rights activists, will push for passage of the proposed state Predatory Lawsuit Lending Prevention Act.
A new group was formed to advocate for reforms in the litigation finance sector in California.
“Individuals from lower-income and marginalized groups, especially those from communities of color, formerly incarcerated individuals, and exonerees, are particularly vulnerable to predatory practices within the lawsuit lending industry,” said Geri Silva, a member of the Consumers for Fair Legal Funding–California (CFLF-CA).
