Microsoft Corp. has successfully staved off the Federal Trade Commission’s efforts to delay its $69 billion deal to acquire Activision Blizzard Inc. after a federal judge ruled the agency’s claim the merger will substantially lessen competition is not convincing, allowing the two companies to proceed towards closing their agreement.
The FTC sought to delay the tie-up while it completes its investigation.
