State justices preview coming US policy on Title IX discipline
If finalized, the guidance would reverse 2020 changes made by President Donald Trump’s administration that said students should be given the right to question their accusers.
The U.S. Department of Education is expected to soon release new guidance for what Title IX requires of college and university disciplinary bodies adjudicating allegations of sexual violence.
Under a draft proposal released last year, the department indicated it would renew a President Barack Obama administration era policy to deny those accused of campus assaults the right to cross-examine their accusers and other witnesses.
