Activision drops suit against YouTube music critic
According to the complaint, Activision Blizzard uploaded a video to its TikTok page using an audio recording by the music critic, who then sent a demand letter for publicity rights and alleging false endorsement.
The publishing division of video game maker Activision Blizzard Inc. dropped a federal lawsuit it had filed three weeks ago against an online personality over the use of a viral audio clip.
Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp partner Marc E. Mayer informed the court in Los Angeles on Thursday that Activision dismissed the action with prejudice. He did not respond to a request for more information on why the lawsuit was dropped.
