San Francisco Archdiocese files for bankruptcy
Bankruptcy needed to handle 500 sex abuse suits, archdiocese says.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco filed for Chapter 11 protection on Monday. This is the third bankruptcy filing by a Catholic Diocese in California this year, and it probably won’t be the last.
