Judges should avoid law firm parties, state ethics panel says
The basis for the committee’s opinion was its conclusion that law firm celebrations are predominantly business rather than social events.
Judicial officers should not accept invitations to for-profit law firm celebrations that include free food and beverages, the Committee on Judicial Ethics stated in an advisory opinion Tuesday.
