Bill to judges more family law training awaits final vote
SB 331 requires family court judicial personnel to make “appropriate custody decisions” that prioritize child safety and well-being that are culturally sensitive and appropriate for the involved communities.
The state Senate was set for final consideration late Thursday of a bill that would establish more extensive annual training programs for judges, commissioners and referees and others in family law courts to properly recognize and respond to child custody and domestic violence matters.
