Human trafficking in Ventura County: It’s happening in your own backyard
Implementing a statewide training program within schools across California can potentially save hundreds to thousands of victims.

McKenna Fitzpatrick is a third-year law student at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law where she is the vice president of volunteer coordination for Advocates for Public Interest, a Student Ambassador, and just finished her clerkship at the Ventura County District Attorney's Office. She hopes to raise awareness on human trafficking in the United States, specifically the connection between foster care.
Human trafficking is a serious problem in Ventura County that few are aware of. While often viewed as an international dilemma, its effects are felt throughout the county.
