Senate confirms judge to seat on federal court in San Francisco

San Francisco County Superior Court Judge Rita F. Lin was once a litigator at Morrison & Foerster LLP.

The U.S. Senate voted Tuesday to confirm San Francisco County Superior Court Judge Rita F. Lin to a vacancy in the Northern District of California by a 52-45 margin.

She got votes from three Republican senators — U.S. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. The trio occasionally crosses party lines to support nominees of President Joe Biden, a Democrat.
