Eastern District chief judge to go senior to create more vacancies
Chief Judge Kimberly J. Mueller testified in Congress about the shortage of judges on the court, where the caseload two-thirds higher than the national average.
The chief judge of the U.S. Eastern District of California has told President Joe Biden she intends to seek senior status next year. Reached on Monday, Kimberly J. Mueller said the decision will allow her to help her “overburdened court.”
