Sen. Scott Wiener wants drivers to slow down. But it’s not clear the San Francisco Democrat will be able to force them to.
His new bill, SB 961, would require that “commencing with the 2027 model year, to be equipped with an intelligent speed limiter, as specified, that would limit the speed of the vehicle to 10 miles per hour over the speed limit.”
California may not be able to unilaterally require these devices...
