Bay Area's KQED faces putative class action by employee
The plaintiff also claims eight other violations, including failure to pay minimum and straight time wages, failure to pay overtime wages and failure to provide meal periods.
A putative class action filed in San Francisco Superior Court accused KQED Inc., one of the top news providers in the Bay Area, of violating a host of California labor laws, including withholding final paychecks for departing employees.
According to the complaint, filed Feb. 20, KQED's failure to timely pay the lead plaintiff his final wages following his termination in November 2022 was not an isolated incident but was a regular practice.
