Univision Communications Inc. has agreed to acquire Hispanic Broadcasting Corp. in a deal announced June 12. The all-stock deal is worth $3.5 billion.
Los Angeles-based Univision is a Spanish-language television network. It owns and operates 46 television stations and has 33 broadcast affiliates.
Dallas-based Hispanic Broadcasting owns and operates 55 radio stations throughout the country. Its largest market is Los Angeles, where it owns and operates KLVE, KSCA and KTNQ.
Los Angeles' O'Melveny & Myers represented Univision in the deal. Partner Kendall Bishop led the deal team. Partners Robert Haymer, Allison Keller and Robert Blashek assisted. Associates Eric Zabinski, Kenneth Firtel, Robert Lowe, Robert Miller, Aline Taireh and Erin Chrislock assisted. Partner Richard Parker pitched in from Washington, D.C.
Houston's Vinson & Elkins represented Hispanic Broadcasting. Partner Michael Wortley led the deal team from Dallas. Partners Mark Early and James Meyer assisted.
