BURGER CHAIN FEELS FRESH AFTER RECENT ACQUISITION

Wendy's International Inc. has agreed to acquire Fresh Enterprises Inc., the parent company of Baja Fresh Mexican Grill. The all-cash deal was announced May 31 and is worth $275 million.

        Dublin, Ohio's Wendy's is a hamburger fast-food chain with more than 6,000 restaurants throughout the world. Wendy's also owns Tom Hortons, a coffee and baked goods chain in Canada.
        Thousand Oaks-based Fresh Enterprises provides fast, healthy Mexican food without the use of microwaves, freezers or MSG. The company operates and franchises 169 restaurants in 16 states and the District of Columbia.
