TIER TECHNOLOGIES WILL BUY OFFICIAL PAYMENTS

Tier Technologies Inc. will acquire Official Payments Corp. for $75 million in cash. The deal was announced May 31. Walnut Creek-based Tier Technologies provides consulting, transaction processing, such as child support payments and systems design services, including billing systems to government, health care and finance markets.
