Orqis Medical Corp. has received $9 million in second-round financing. The Lake Forest company closed its first round of financing in March 1999.
Lead investors for this round were Domain Associates, Vertex Technology Fund (III) Limited, Priceworth Investments Ltd., and Johnson & Johnson Development Corp.
Orqis is working to commercialize a circulatory assist device designed to treat congestive heart failure.
Oakland-based Crosby Heafey Roach & May represented Orqis. Century City partner Michael Sanders guided associate Christian Scognamillo on the details.
Palo Alto's Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati represented the investors. Partners Arthur Schneiderman and associates Anthony Kiuta and Larry Adkison worked on the deal.
