Gibson Dunn: Cash and Stock Seal Deal for Silicon Valley Merger

Pleasanton's PeopleSoft Inc. has agreed to buy SkillsVillage Inc. of Sunnyvale. The cash and stock deal is worth $32 million. PeopleSoft sells management applications that tie together customers' global back-office operations.

        PeopleSoft sells management applications that tie together customers' global back-office operations.
        SkillsVillage, a privately held company founded in 1999, offers applications and professional services to procure and manage contract services.
        PeopleSoft's in-house counsel,
Anne Jordan, Dorian West and David Chavez, worked with Los Angeles-based Gibson Dunn & Crutcher on the deal. San Francisco partner Todd Baker led the deal team, which included San Francisco associates Paul Heilmann and Amanda Riley, as well as Los Angeles partner Paul Issler.

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati represented SkillsVillage. At the firm's headquarters, partners Steven Bochner, Matthew Sonsini and Debra Summers guided associates Matthew Jensen, Susan Krause, Eileen Marshall, Son-U Michael Paik, Joseph Pierce, Stephen Robinson and Ritu Tariyal. From San Francisco, partners Steve Camahort and David Gerson and associate Heather Meeker also worked on the deal.
