Partners Michael Hughes and Daniel Rottinghaus of construction litigation boutique Berding & Weil have been elected to the Consumers Attorneys of California board of directors.
Hughes, whose Alameda-based firm represents homeowners' associations in construction defect litigation, sees an increasing role for the 3,000-member organization.
"The CAOC is leading the fight to preserve the rights of homeowners as consumers," Hughes says of the self-proclaimed watchdog of big business. "If the economy continues to falter, consumer rights will be further in jeopardy, given that they won't have the wherewithal to defend themselves."
Berding & Weil's three Northern California offices have a total of 22 attorneys.
