Ryan Lapidus decided that big firms weren't for him. So, he made himself the boss and opened his own litigation practice last month in Beverly Hills.

        Ryan Lapidus decided that big firms weren't for him. So, he made himself the boss and opened his own litigation practice last month in Beverly Hills.
        "It's better to be the boss than to have 600 partners over me," he says.
        Lapidus, who specializes in commercial and intellectual property litigation, worked at Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe.
