Chinese Government Approves Sidley Austin's Offices in Asia

Not to be outdone in China, Sidley Austin Brown & Wood received government approval to retain its offices in Shanghai and Beijing. Sidley Austin opened offices in Beijing and Shanghai in 1996 and 1999, respectively, but in accordance with new Chinese government regulations, the law firm had to reapply for licenses to retain resident representative offices.

        Sidley Austin opened offices in Beijing and Shanghai in 1996 and 1999, respectively, but in accordance with new Chinese government regulations, the law firm had to reapply for licenses to retain resident representative offices.
        Sidley Austin, with 1,414 attorneys firmwide, has five offices in Asia: Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.
