BAKERSFIELD -- Superior Court Judge Elizabet Rodriguez grew up watching, and sometimes helping, her parents toil in grape fields in Kern County, and vowing she wouldn't do that for the rest of her life.
"And now I work 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., maybe 8:00 to 6:30, sometimes 7:00," said Rodriguez. "Fridays I work till about 8:30 to 10:00 at night, because I don't want to work on the weekend."
