LOS ANGELES - Superior Court Judge Leslie A. Swain knew she had made it once she got to Hollywood - not as a film star, but as a bench officer.
One of her first assignments as a judge was at the courthouse just off U.S. Highway 101 on the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," half a mile east of the famed intersection of Hollywood and Vine.
