MONTEREY PARK - Most everything Robert L. Stevenson has done in his adult life has been in some way related to children.

From teacher to lawyer to bench officer, Stevenson always gravitated toward the needs of young people - even during his late teens and early 20s, when he wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life.
