SACRAMENTO - Barely a year after being appointed to the bench, the last thing Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Tami R. Bogert wanted was an election fight to hold onto her seat.

While she dreaded the idea of a campaign, she beat her well-financed challenger, former prosecutor Keven P. Star, by a wide margin in June after picking up endorsements from a wide variety of individuals and organizations.
