MONTEREY PARK - Long before she became a dependency-court referee, a special-education mediator and even a lawyer, Sherri Sobel had a goal: to work with children.
"I went to law school to do that," Sobel said.
Children deserve safe neighborhoods, good schools and sober parents, she said. Education is key.
