OAKLAND - Alameda County Superior Court Judge Kimberly M. Briggs used to prosecute drug dealers and murderers, facing off against defense lawyers trying to keep their clients out of prison.

Now one of the seats in her courtroom is occupied by a gigantic, shaggy stuffed dog, and when she takes the bench, she is joined by Tweety Bird of Looney Tunes fame.
