Tehama County Superior Court Judge Edward J. King III moved upstate from Southern California as a young lawyer 30 years ago.

Looking for a peaceful life in the rural Sacramento Valley, north of the capital, King built a solid career as a deputy county prosecutor, as the elected district attorney and as a jurist on the county's four-judge bench.
