Back in Chambers

More than 20 years ago, Edmund F. Brennan made a decision that changed the course of his career.

Brennan was working as a law clerk for District Judge Edward J. Garcia, when an opening on the civil side of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Sacramento came up. Brennan had already served four years with Garcia and wanted some experience as a litigator. But Garcia had offered him a permanent clerkship.
