LOS ANGELES - Sitting in his 13th floor chambers in downtown Los Angeles, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Alan M. Ahart glances at the panoramic view of the city below and smiles.

"That's Dodger Stadium over there," Ahart said, pointing the north and admitting he's a longtime fan.

To the south, he can catch a glimpse of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, where some of his favorite operas are performed.
