SAN DIEGO - It wasn't fair, the young woman told Judge William H. Kronberger Jr. Plain and simple, she had been robbed - by a dating agency.

She wanted a refund, Kronberger recalled.

"'They keep sending me these old, bald guys,'" the 20-something litigant groused during a small-claims appeal hearing a few years ago.
