RIVERSIDE - There's a joke Judge Elisabeth Sichel likes to make during jury selection for each new trial she presides over. She asks the jury pool, "Is anyone nervous?" A shy hand or two goes up. "Well, what you're doing is interviewing for a job you don't really want," she tells them, "so you have no reason to be nervous."
