There was a time when Judge Edward D. Jellen's stay relief calendars were relatively mild affairs.

Over the course of a morning, Jellen might hear 10 to 15 motions in which attorneys for creditors seek permission to go after assets protected under a bankruptcy filing. With the calendar held every other Friday, Jellen might hear 30 motions a month.
