NEWPORT BEACH - Judge Stephanie George is not the warm and fuzzy type.

In the 10 years she has been on the bench, George has acquired a reputation as "difficult." The former Navy JAG officer and Orange County prosecutor is brusque, impatient and nit-picky, according to some lawyers. She has a propensity for dressing-down attorneys, even those with stellar reputations, some say.
