SAN DIEGO - It's the lucky person who receives an invitation to one of Judge Laura Birkmeyer's dinner parties, friends say.
She's the epitome of the perfect hostess "and a fantastic cook," said Carol Lam, Birkmeyer's former boss at the U.S. attorney's office and a longtime friend.
