SALINAS — On a single Wednesday morning, Monterey County Superior Court Judge Andrew G. Liu ran through a calendar of 30 defendants in less than three hours, handling guilty pleas, sentencings, probation revocations, Proposition 47 motions to reduce felonies to misdemeanors, and more.

Liu also took the time, when necessary, to acknowledge defendants’ statements, issue warnings or admonishments, and offer advice.
