VAN NUYS — Judge Michael R. Amerian remembers visiting the Van Nuys courthouse as a child, sitting with his mother in the back of the courtroom to watch his father rule from the bench.
That courthouse is long gone, but Amerian now sits on the bench in the courthouse next door, wearing the same set of robes his father wore.
